Agreement
The information in the Terms and Conditions is updated as of 25th of June 2007 by Smart Learning Network.
By definition under the Singapore Law of Contract, any agreement between Smart Learning Network and tutors, be it written or verbally conversed, once accepted, shall be deemed to be legally binding between all parties. Upon registration, all parties are deemed to have read through, fully understood, accepted and shall be legally binded to all the listed terms and conditions.
Smart Learning Network reserves the right to amend or alter the Terms and Conditions with or without prior notice when deemed necessary.
1. Eligibility
As a tutor from Smart Learning Network you declare that you are:
(a) A Singapore Citizen/PR or Employment/Student Pass (for International Students) residing in Singapore
(b) Providing accurate information about yourself and your educational credentials
1.1 Please present all necessary documents to certify academic qualifications/testimonials, credentials and NRIC on the first lesson.
1.2 Be reminded to bring your recognized teaching qualification if you are a teacher of a school.
1.3 Tutors must be competent in the subjects they are teaching. This implies that tutors must have strong and excellent grades in the subject matter.
1.4 Teaching or coaching and motivational skills are added advantage.
Smart Learning Network has high regards on personal integrity. Therefore Smart Learning Network reserves the right to let go tutors with less integrity with or without any notice.
2. Registration
To register as a tutor with Smart Learning Network, complete the registration form, and attach educational certificates and other credentials, to your email and send to SmrtLN@yahoo.com.
By registering, it is deemed that you have fully understood and agreed to the terms and conditions.
Once we find any compatible assignments, you will be contacted immediately.
3. Confidentiality
All information and personal details will be kept strictly confidential within Smart Learning Network.
4. Replacement of Tutors
If for any reason a tutor wishes to discontinue his/her tuition service, he/she must duly inform Smart Learning Network so that we can arrange a replacement immediately.
We urge every tutor to take up responsibility for their assignments for as long as they wish to render their services. And due to strict regulations, the service charges will still be imposed to the tutor even if he/she fails to continue with the assignments within the first month.
5. Code of Conduct
All tutors are to be professional in their service and conduct. All reports from parents will be dealt and viewed seriously.All tutors shall keep their handphone usage to the minimal or avoid it (if possible) and refrain from practicing any inappropriate behaviour .Tutors shall arrive punctually for the lessons. Cancelling or postponing lessons shall be informed to parents at least 1 day (24 hours) in advance. Unpunctuality shall not be tolerated. However, if due to unseen circumstances, tutors are to inform parents, at least 1 hour in advance, should they expect to be late.Smart Learning Network strongly encourages tutors to keep up with a high standard of professionalism so as to gain credibility for further assignments.
6. Government School Teachers
It is the policy of Smart Learning Network that government school teachers are not allowed to accept assignments to students from their teaching school. This is introduced to maintain the integrity of Singapore’s education sector and which probably would comply with the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore’s rules.
Anyone found in breach of this condition would be immediately reported to the respective school’s principal.
This rule does not apply to tutors and lecturers from tertiary institutions.
7. Charges
Registration fee is made at no cost for the registrant.
Smart Learning Network is entitled to a service charge of 40% of the tuition fee. This service charge is only applicable to the First Month ONLY. The service charge is for providing tuition assignments to tutors.
Mode of payment. 40% of the tuition fee received by the third week of term is to be paid to the company through Bank Account Transfer, Internet Banking or Cash. Tutors are to pay the company when the term has arrived.

P.S.: This is only a guideline. Fees are subjected to change and prior agreement.
9. Disputes
Should there be any form of misunderstanding with regards to tuition payments et cetera, Smart Learning Network will be more than willing to assist in the matter to ensure that all tutors are paid for their services by the parents. Smart Learning Network will render its helping hand to protect all tutors from mistreatment from parents, if ever.
Although disputes are rare, Smart Learning Network pleads to tutors to maintain a sense of professionalism and amicable attitude.
10. Limitation of Liability
Smart Learning Network, its owners and employees, will not be liable for any damages, including but not limited to indirect, special or consequential damages.
